02 · Origin
Origin
Rwanda's rich volcanic soils, high elevations and mild climate provide ideal growing conditions for specialty coffee. These conditions help produce dense beans with bright acidity, natural sweetness and excellent complexity.

About the Producer
Rwamatamu Coffee Ltd. was founded by Mukantwaza Laetitia and Rutaganda Gaston with a vision of producing exceptional coffee while creating lasting opportunities for the local community. Alongside coffee grown on their own farm, they work closely with neighbouring smallholder farmers, helping improve quality and providing a reliable market for their harvests. Women make up much of the workforce, reflecting the farm's commitment to supporting the local community.
04 · Processing
Processing
Only fully ripe cherries are hand-picked before being carefully sorted and naturally processed. The cherries are dried slowly on raised African beds for around 25 to 35 days, allowing the fruit sugars to develop while preserving the coffee's clean character. Careful drying and regular turning ensure an even process and contribute to the coffee's vibrant sweetness and balanced finish.

07 · From the Roaster
From the Roaster
When I first read the tasting notes for this coffee, I knew it was one I wanted to roast. I enjoy naturally processed coffees that are expressive without becoming overpowering, and this Rwandan strikes that balance beautifully. My aim when roasting it is to highlight the bright fruit character while keeping enough sweetness to produce a balanced, approachable cup that works just as well with milk as it does black.
